In order to involve and educate more Alaskans about aquatic resources, the Division of Sport Fish has added a mobile classroom. Activities conducted from the classroom further the goals, objectives, and strategies of the Sport Fish Division Strategic Plan.

The fifth-wheel trailer has a generator, computer, microscopes, and a wet lab. The mobile classroom is used:

* at streamside or coastal locations for school, youth group and adult watershed and aquatic education classes,
* for conservation and stewardship programs,
* as a classroom/lab where learners can participate in hands-on activities such as aquatic invertebrate presentations and fish dissections,
for tourist events where there may be an interest in educating visitors about Alaska's aquatic habitats,
* at large general public events such as outdoor shows, fairs, and fishing days.

The mural on the classroom was painted by "Hermanos Huachinango," also known as the "Rockfish Brothers." Hermanos Huachinango is made up of Alaskan artists Ray Troll and Carla Potter, and San Diego artists Roberto Salas and Guillermo Jauregui.
